The Sweetest State
The sweet peach state never tasted sweeter. My first time in Georgia was quite the experience. I hadn’t been on a vacation in three years, and I was more than ready. I packed my bags, left home, and arrived at the airport not knowing what was to come. It didn’t quite feel real until I boarded the airplane, and that’s when it hit me. After years of dreaming of visiting, my prayers had been answered. I was nervous, excited, all the emotions you could imagine. Time had gone incredibly fast, and the four-hour flight felt like four minutes. We arrived safely, and I couldn’t wait to explore the city known as Buckhead.
Once I settled into my Airbnb, I went for a walk around the city and immediately had a sense of relief within me. It was just like home, yet different. From the structures of the buildings to the people, it felt the same, but at the same time, it was new. The rest of my time there, I spent exploring the vast cultural sites and wandering around the park trails, and every time, I couldn’t help but be reminded of my home. It gave me the idea that if I ever want to move there, I wouldn’t feel homesick, or if I did, it would be for a short time, but I’d get used to it. It was one of the most comforting feelings, and I genuinely can’t wait to go back.
